This little town? village? is built on the most beautiful harbour (there are everywhere here0We take a nature Walk guided by Odin (he really looks like the original Vikings). He talks about flaura (we mustn's step on the moo) points at flowers (introduced! bad! and tries to explain why this tiny, isolated place is beloved by many. People must leave to study and learn a way to make a living but come back to raise their family. We follow him along the country lanes, listen to his stories, learn a bit more about wonderful but strange Icelandic way of life.

In the end, despite my misgivings about 'visiting a country on cruise' we have learned to know Iceland more than I expected. I have seen enough to know that I would like to see more of its mountains and waterfalls and spend more time in the towns. Even in winter, if it means seeing the Northern Lights
